Gravity Cellars is a four-level gravity-fed winery that is literally connected to the land. Nestled in the upper Moutere Hills, it offers panoramic views of Tasman Bay, Nelson, Mt Arthur, and the Southern Alps.
As gravity guides the wine down four levels, spanning over 18 metres, this technique minimises oxygen exposure in the final wine, ensuring the preservation of its aromatics and flavours. The philosophy that “wine is alive” resonates with us as we remove pumps from the winemaking process to enhance the natural purity of the grapes, allowing an authentic expression of the terroir.

Guided Cellar Tours
Go 'behind the scenes' with our Winemaker for an hour-long tour of Gravity Cellars. Taste barrel samples from our Waimea Estates (Nelson) and Bannock Brae (Central Otago) wines and discover the craft behind every bottle.
Our tours generally take place on Fridays at 11:00; however, alternative days can be arranged upon request.
