The palate is much more powerful than the lovely nose suggests with silky tannins and ripe red fruit with acidity that gives the wine a long and fresh finish. This wine has a presence that tells of a place and a season. Understated at first, it continues to open up and seduce as each layer unfolds.
Deep dark cherry and blackberry aromas lifted by violets and a hint of vanilla. Textural, with earth and leathery notes and a touch of spice.

The Bannock Brae Pinot Noir is grown in Bannockburn, Central Otago gravels and sand derived from Schist.
Handpicked fruit is gently destemmed to small format open top fermenters. 15% of the fruit was retained as whole bunches to elevate spice and floral notes. Matured in 30% new fine grain French oak barriques for 18 months, unfined and unfiltered. Minimal intervention.
